What follows is the complete LitBlimp studio discography, presented without context, apology, or accurate liner notes. The band considers every album to be a comeback record.

  • 1971

    Inflated

    The debut. Floated three basements. The opening drum fill is technically a sneeze.

  • 1973

    Heavier Than Air

    A meditation on aerodynamics. Side B is just the band breathing.

  • 1976

    Smoking on the Tarmac

    Recorded entirely between flights. Norway took offense for reasons never disclosed.

    Helium Dreams

    The band's only concept album. The concept was: more helium. Critics did not survive.

    Untitled (The Brown One)

    Pressed on brown vinyl by accident. Listened to only on purpose.

    Live at the Hindenburg Memorial

    The first live record, and the first unauthorized one. Recorded without permission over the memorial field at Lakehurst. The Lakehurst Memorial Estate Trust sent a four-sentence fax demanding the master be destroyed; the band framed the fax and released the record. Every refusal the band has since filed under 'awaiting confirmation' begins on that page.

    The band denies the existence of this album. It is on streaming services anyway.

  • 2024

    Re-Inflated

    The reunion record. Three of the four original members are listed in the credits, with varying degrees of certainty. Has been described elsewhere as a 'response' to a certain wholesome parking-lot outfit. It is not. We do not know who they are. We never respond to other bands. Track 4 is titled 'Bigger Amps Than Faith,' and that is unrelated.

    Live at the Memorial (Again)

    A second live record taped at the same memorial, again without permission, after the band concluded the first fax did not technically forbid a sequel. Counsel disagrees. The recording stands. Track 7 is forty minutes of feedback the band describes as 'the room agreeing with us.'

    Live from the Stratosphere Tour

    Captured across the 2026 dates, most of them airborne, all of them above the venue's noise ordinance. Recorded from inside the gondola, so the crowd is faint and the wind is not. On track nine a competing performance drifts in from an adjacent lot — folding chairs, soft harmonies, the usual. We do not know whose it was. We never respond to other bands. We simply opened the throttle.

Notable tracks, catalogued against their will.

The band does not release singles. It releases evidence. What follows is a partial index of the tracks people bring up unprompted — the sneeze, the breathing, the kazoo, the forty minutes of feedback — collected here so they can be argued about in one place instead of six. Track lengths are approximate. The disputes are exact.

  1. Downbeat

    Inflated · 1971

    The first sound on the first record. The opening drum fill is, on close listening, a sneeze — Nigel St. Bernard's, caught on an open mic he was standing too near. The band counted it in and kept it. It has never been re-recorded, because you cannot re-record a sneeze, and because the band maintains there was nothing to fix.

  2. Side B

    Heavier Than Air · 1973

    Forty minutes of the band breathing, in time, as a meditation on aerodynamics. There are no instruments on the second side because, the liner notes explain, air is the instrument. Critics called it self-indulgent. The band called it Side B and pressed it anyway.

  3. Kazoo Solo

    Disputed

    Helium Dreams · 1981

    Stillborn Kowalski's kazoo solo, and his alone — a point on which the band has never wavered, even after Kowalski was moved to emeritus. What remains disputed is where the solo ends. It is credited at four minutes. It has been timed at eleven. The band declines to specify, on the grounds that a kazoo solo is over when it decides it is over.

  4. Unplugged

    Denied

    A quiet, tuneful, entirely acoustic track from an album the band denies recording, releasing, or hearing. It is on the streaming services regardless, at a healthy playcount the band attributes to bots. The bots have good taste. The album still does not exist.

  5. Bigger Amps Than Faith

    Re-Inflated · 2024

    Track four of the reunion record. The title is not aimed at anyone. It is not a response to a certain wholesome parking-lot outfit, whom we do not know, and whose amplifiers — if they own any — are, as a matter of physics, smaller. We never respond to other bands. We simply named a song and moved on.

  6. The Room Agreeing With Us

    Live at the Memorial (Again) · 2025

    Track seven: forty minutes of feedback recorded over the memorial field at Lakehurst, without permission, which the band describes as the room agreeing with it. Counsel describes it differently. Counsel has been notified. The recording stands.

  7. Track Nine

    Live from the Stratosphere Tour · 2026

    Recorded from inside the gondola, so the wind is loud and the crowd is faint. Nine minutes in, a competing performance drifts up from an adjacent lot — folding chairs, soft harmonies, a gentle key. Others insist it was Water2Fine. We do not know whose it was. We never respond to other bands. We simply opened the throttle, and the throttle won.
